Indiana University East Faculty: Retired and Past Faculty

Karen Clark

Karen Clark is the dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences and started as an instructor in 1987.  Karen was know for being involved with Reid Hospital, and gave her students a new insight to nursing.  She and her students helped during the moving of Reid to Chester Boulevard.  The faculty and students helped move the 91 patients and provide care for the patients and their families, pack patient equipment, administer medication under faculty supervision, and several other tasks throughout the day.  The students were able to take what they had learned at IUE and implement their skills during the move.  Karen also led a trip to Chinle, Ariz., where IU East students administered 1,300 shots and visited historical landmarks.  They served patients from ages 2 to about 70.
