Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.
Storytelling Reinvention: constructs real-world locations and history for the player to experience firsthand
Game Information Release Date: November 2nd, 2015 Developer: Heavens Blessings Tiny Zoo Rating: Everyone Genres: Role-playing, adventure, historical Price: $8.99 Website: http://www.visionsgame.com/
Visions is a Christian MMORPG set in the ancient Roman empire (currently the game world includes only the island of Cyprus, but is being expanded) with a quest and skill-based gameplay where players can experience history as a citizen of the Roman empire. Visions is being created by a team of volunteers who work together in a virtual environment from around the world. History is one of the greatest stories because it really happened and the things that happened in the past affect our future. The gameplay in Visions is designed to be meaningful beyond the barriers of the game. Players will learn the fundamentals of real recipes, real skills, real geography, and real history that can be used in their everyday life outside of the game. They will be able to see a game artists interpretation of real geographical landmark buildings as they might have looked when they were in use. Players will be able to learn about the history of the Roman empire and the role of the early church as a participant in the events. Visions is in Alpha stage of development right now, meaning the game is still missing several core elements of the intended design, but access is available to financial supporters who want to see what the game looks like while it is being developed. Learn more about Visions from the website and participate in the community on the Facebook page to see regular updates about the progress, screenshots, and notifications about special events or patch days.
