Compositions
This is an example of one of Isabella Leonarda's compositions, Domine ad Adjuvandum. In it, the use of SATB choir, 2 violins, and continuo can be observed; many of her vocal works had this same orchestration. This piece in particular is a Vesper, and thus it may have been sung daily in the convent as well as other places with copies. Additionally, changes to the texture can be heard in her variation of voices at certain times, and elements of a round are prevalent.1 4
