While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Paths: Follow a thematically grouped series of pages linked together in a sequence
Table of Contents: Use the three sideways exclamations marks to open a menu of paths. You will also see an option to jump to the "Index" where you can skip to any of our content, whether pages or paths or media assets or even annotations. (Incredible, we know!)
Search: Look for content
Hyperlinks: Just follow any hyperlink.
When you're on a path, you'll see arrows that continue you on that trajectory, but you can leap off at any point. Don't like where you've gone, just follow the back arrow.
