Team Co-Research Tool and Server Version
Maltego Carbon enables team collaboration around Web- and Internet-based data extraction work. The collaboration capability is part of the server version of the tool. The interactivity involves real-time chat, the sharing of graphs, and the viewing of each other's annotations.
An Associated Tool: CaseFile
In the spirit of research, Paterva enables the creating of “CaseFiles” with context-sensitive annotation and analysis.
CaseFile does not come with Maltego Carbon. It is a complementary tool for "white hat" / "black hat" security researchers.

Server Version
If multiple individuals are working on an academic project at the same time, they may collaborate in real-time (or in an asynchronous way) using the server version of Maltego Carbon. The server-version of the tool enables real-time sharing of graphs, a shared chat, and a collaboration window—which enables distributed work.
Also, the graphs and project files (.mtgx) may be encrypted for transport / transfer.
