A Conceptual Framework of Technology for Learning and Teaching

Turning Backwards

In middle and high school, my experience with learning technology didn’t change much, unless it was to turn backwards. My use of technology for educational purposes was limited mainly to word processing. One exception, however, was with Mrs. Scharenberg. For her 8th grade math class, my friends and I created a music video, full of dancing stuffed animals, to teach others the order of operations. Much like Miss Dyleski’s refrain, this one still echoes in my memories. As I consider my strongest and earliest memories of learning with technology, I find a progression from learning to use technology for the sake of technological proficiency toward using the technology to learn.
