Chapter 2 - Religious Contribution

Inside of a Homeless Shelter and a Soup Kitchen in Silicon Valley

Since the beginning of civilization, religion has played a huge part in the lives of many people.  Over the years, this connection has faded, but still binds people, whether they are aware of it or not.  Religious organizations serve to strengthen those connections. Charity volunteers and workers strive to make changes in lives of people they do not even know. In faith based giving these donations are based, in part, on a spiritual connection.

Charity and generosity are two fundamental cornerstones of many religions.  Since the beginning of religious society, religion has been associated with charitable giving.  Religious principles often dictate charity as an important part of their society.  These principles persist today, and religious institutions often run charities to aid poor communities.
