Velvel Zbarazher

The son of well-to-do parents, Benjamin Wolf Ehrenkranz (1823/26–1883) known as Velvel Zbarazher, was a maskil from the town of Zbaraż in Galicia who became a poet and “folk bard,” writing his own songs and performing them in Yiddish in cafés and wine cellars.
