Elizabeth Mossanen, one of the original twelve board members of Looking Beyond, was born on June 17th 1968 in Tehran, Iran. She was raised in a comfortable and loving environment, free from anti-Semitism, prejudice, and the difficulties faced by many minorities in Iran. When she was eleven years old, at the brink of the revolution, Mrs. Mossanen emigrated to the United States with her mother and five siblings. Her family initially moved to Connecticut in 1979, and later resettled in Los Angeles, hoping to reconnect with the greater Iranian Jewish community. At the age of twenty-two, Elizabeth married Majid Mossanen. The happy couple went on to have three children, Yasi, Iman, and Mateen.
