In order to achieve their fundraising goals, Looking Beyond hosts many events and galas. Past events have included poker tournaments, luncheons, raffles, and silent auctions. Additionally, several Looking Beyond events have hosted celebrity guest speakers including Molly Sims, Stevie Wonder, and Deepak Chopra. The majority of such events have sold out, with ticket prices averaging 250 dollars. Looking Beyond events also traditionally include an honoree that has been chosen for their extraordinary achievements. Looking Beyond’s honorees typically are affected by moderate to severe disability and have faced many challenges. Looking Beyond uses their events as opportunities to honor these exemplary individuals for living their lives with great passion and striving to surpass their limitations. By honoring these individuals, Looking Beyond hopes to illustrate the possibilities available for special needs children and young adults. The proceeds from these events, as well as donations from members, help support programs that allow these children to live fulfilling lives and meet their full potential.
