VIII Encuentro de Bandas en Los Angeles, California
Link to Facebook Live recording of the performance

I partnered with the Maqueos Music Academy over the past couple of months to plan this concert which featured eight different bands around the Los Angeles area. Our goal was to showcase the talent of the youth in our Indigenous communities here in LA. The age range of the musicians in these bands is anywhere from five to 50+ years. The concert ended up being over three hours, and except for about five of the pieces, all of the works featured were composed by Indigenous composers from Oaxaca, Mexico. I hope to keep introducing this music to new audiences and redefine the traditional concert experience in order to make music accessible to all and create new artistic experiences.
