Wine and winery

Why Wine??

Wine was important and can be found in almost every civilization in history.   As we stroll through the vineyards of centuries past we find the roots of wine making and it progression.

It was originally a beverage that was imported to United States from overseas. Americans love wine, but in the early part of colonization it was purely an imported beverage.  As the United States became more established it was discovered that California was prime country for growing grapes, from there grew an enterprising monopoly.  But during a period in history, Wine became an enterprise that the United State has monopolized (Maybe find a monopoly board). The Southwest coastal climate is similar to the Mediterranean climate, and the soils are rich with nutrients providing excellent conditions for grape vines to grow.  The wine production started in The Napa Valley, moving from there to California because of the climate.
