AFTERLIFE
by Moriah Parker
Or life after death
There is only the love we give
And the promise to carry each other within
When my heart beats with yours I know I’ll live forever
My body will decompose
Its energy gone and scattered
Like pollen over a field
Life and death
Gives breath to new life
When you pick the dandelions
That grow over my grave
And make a wish
Please remember me
Let the seeds be my body
Your memory my heart
And then I won’t fear losing myself
If I can live forever
In your field of flowers
