  SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NAME

  'The Split Bean' as a cafe name represents the objective of the cafe which is to serve the needs of its varied visitors. The design of the cafe is such that it caters to a diversified set of interests and hobbies of its visitors. It stands by the ideal of unity in diversity.

  AESTHETIC SENSE

  The look of the cafe has been designed by keeping the objective in mind. The ambiance of the cafe is minimalistic in design in order to facilitate contribution and constructions in various ways. From the wall color yellow ( Standing for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty and joy) to various other details the design aims to create a friendly and peaceful atmosphere. 

  SERVICES OFFERED

  1. MENU - 
  The menu of the cafe is created as such that it provides a balanced diet for the visitors. It offers soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, smoothies, organic teas and coffee health drinks etc. The food served is less in fat and oily content. This has been offered in order to tap on the health benefits of the visitors and provide them with a more nutrient food which ideally has health benefits.  
  2. GARDEN AREA - ​The garden area aims to create an ambiet and relaxed atmosphere. The presence of grass and tree is used to create a serene environment and cater to nature lovers preferences. The circular platform around the tree is designed as a public space for fostering social interaction. The space can also act as a event room for poetry readings, discussion groups, informal group meetings, project endeavors etc.  
  3. COFFEE COUNTER- This concept has been influenced by the concept of bar counters. The coffee counter is expected to encourage and spark conversations between various visitors and increase the sociability of the cafe. It also can act as a learning experience of visitor expectations and experience. 
  4. TABLE DESIGN- The design of the cafe offers small and long tables both catering to the various groups. The long tables significantly are created to again allow visitor interactions and discussions. The various proposed ideas for the texture of the table is to create maze tables, aquarium divisions, self-doodle surfaces etc bringing in multitude of constructions and inspirations. The sharing of knowledge will also tap onto the intellectual element of visitors. This can also lead to increase in frequency of the visitors. 
  5. OPEN MIC-​ Freedom of speech being the motive behind it, the cafe allows any visitor a space to voice out without criticizing and judgement. The platform could be used for self expressions, gathering ideas, sharing ideals, discussing hobbies, talent displays etc. The potential of having a open mic and also a screen for projection falls into various categories of quality of life.
  6. BOOK-SHELVES- The presence of these attracts a set of visitors who greatly value reading and learning. This shelf allows borrowing, renting and contribution of various book, CDs,DVDs etc. There is no limit to the usability of these shelves. Another benefits is that is attracts a different set of personality types. It can also develop into friendships and relationships based on similar likes of varied differences and allow one to raise questions to self. The possibility of book readings, movie screenings are also ideal. 
  7. NOTICE BOARD, BLACK BOARD & PHOTOWALLS-The boards facilitates identity and recognition to the visitors. The frequent visitors can benefit from this to notify and get notified on the events in and outside the cafe space. It can be used to showcase talents and also gather information. Another aim of the use of this board is to create familiarity and increase serviceability in the cafe space.

  ​PET FRIENDLY AREA​

  This is a relatively new concept which allows interaction of visitors and also their pets in a cafe space. There are many pros and cons of this idea but it ideally is very attractive in nature. The cafe's pet friendly area has a separate entrance to allows comfort for other type of visitors and also has been sectionally divided with metal frames. The pets sometimes can create commotion in the space hence circular tables are created to confine them within a fixed space as a precautionary measure. A different menu is also available for pets. 

  TIMINGS

  The cafe has long working hours in order to increase and incorporate various type of visitors - working and non-working. This also can allow individual to spend more time in developing self, learning, sharing etc. It also helps to increase the frequency and number of visitors.
