The Story of the Stuff: Issues in Temporary Memorial Preservation

"We should keep everything."

Every object tells a unique story, and thus every object could be a valuable addition to a collection.

But consider the time, energy, and manpower you would need in order to catalog and preserve the vast amount of materials which are typically left at temporary memorial sites. The condition of the items (such as exposure to the elements) is also an important consideration for archives and libraries. 

There are many approaches to this problem of processing and selection. We will explore some of these in this module.
