God's Punishment on Adam and The Circle of Life

Milton essentially paraphrases Genesis 3:17-19 from the King James Bible to detail God's punishment on Adam. This passage also introduces the concept of the circle of life. This is another example of how much of an influence the King James Bible is on Milton's writing for Paradise Lost.
