Kathryn Cramer's BiographyKathryn Cramer is an editor, a writer, a hypertext artist, an anthologist, and a futurist. Cramer is a graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop and holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a master's degree in American Studies from Columbia University. She is currently completing a Master of Deign, Strategic Foresight, and Innovation degree. As an editor, Cramer is recognized for editing the Year’s Best Fantasy and Year’s Best Science Fiction anthology series and for her role as a founding editor of the New York Review of Science Fiction. Her work has been recognized with multiple nominations for Locus, Hugo, and World Fantasy Awards. Her anthology The Architecture of Fear won the World Fantasy Award in 1988. In addition to her writing and editing work, Cramer has a distinguished career working with literary agencies and software companies.
Her hypertext work “In Small and Large Pieces” is her most prominent work of electronic literature. Published in 1995 as part of The Eastgate Quarterly Review of Hypertext, this work holds a foundational place in the history of hypertext as a literary form. In the early 1990's, Cramer held the position of the Hypertext Fiction and Non-Fiction Editor for Eastgate Systems Inc.
