Pueblo Football Rivalry: The Pueblo Football Bell Games

THE LEGACY

Sal Gallegos is considered the voice of Dutch Clark Stadium. As a career teacher, his volunteer work at Dutch Clark started as a ticket taker at the front gate. His loyalty to Pueblo Sports and Dutch Clark Stadium has lead him hold the announcer position for sporting events at Dutch Clark Stadium. Sal has announced many Bell games throughout the years according to an article from the Pueblo Chieftain. His experience announcing sports has even led him to try an incorporate a feeling of community at the Stadium. 

Along with his three brothers, David Craddock once played for the team in Blue. Years later he would be the one leading the team as athletic director and head coach. In this interview conducted by Central High-school student Peyton Roth, and provided by the El Pueblo Museum we hear Craddock reminisce on his years playing and coaching. He discusses what it means to the students and most importantly the city of Pueblo. The Picture above has him in a Centennial Polo as he is now the principal for his once rival school. In an interview from the Pueblo Chieftain he is asked about the switch where he says, “Can you wear red? It’s an easy answer. It’s like when an athlete goes from one team to the next." David Craddock is now proving his dedication as an educator now that his time has wrapped up at Central he is leading an example of school pride and developing the Pueblo tradition with each game.
