Johann Boemus
German humanist, hebraicist, and traveler Johann Boemus (c. 1485-1535) was one of the most influential writers of the Early Modern period.
His Omnium Gentium Mores, Leges et Ritus (1520) represents one of the earliest attempts at an ethnographic encyclopedia in Early Modern Europe. His work was translated into English in 1555 by William Waterman and later, in 1611, by Edward Aston.
