In 1555, Waterman composed his Fardle of Facions, a translation of Johann Boemus's Omnium Gentium Mores, Legus, et Ritus, which describes the kingdom of Ethiopia and its white-skinned leader, Prester John. 

Some fifty years after the Fardle appeared, Richard Hakluyt built Waterman's translation into his Principal Navigations
