Date Erected: October 26, 1987

Location: Carolina St. & East Main St., Plymouth, PA

Description:
The Plymouth Coal Miners' Memorial is along the main highway that runs through Plymouth, PA. The main frame of the memorial symbolizes the opening of a mine shaft with a wooden trellis. Also, there is an extensive list (but not complete) of mining disasters that had happened all throughout the anthracite region. The main illustration shows miners with their lunch pail and gas lantern head lamps. On the site of the memorial is a commemoration to the former mayor, Edward F. Burns, who helped commission the memorial.
