Text and images in this section are adapted from a previous exhibit that was installed in the Rotunda of the Benjamin Rosenthal Library at Queens College from September 2 through October 18, 2003. The display (titled "McCarthyism at Queens College") was curated by Dorothy Pita (Queens College alumnus) and Lawrence Kaplan (Queens College alumnus and Professor Emeritus of History at City College), with the assistance of designer Alice Sprintzen and Queens College Archivist Stephen Barto. Pita and Kaplan were students at Queens College during the period portrayed. The content is presented chronologically in the five sections listed below.
