Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Elemental HERO Stratos

Elemental HERO Stratos however was not a part of the original line of monsters, and was released later on, Elemental HERO Stratos is known as a searcher which means he is used to search for cards in your deck and add them to your hand. Stratos is considered the best main deck HERO due to his ability to add any HERO to your hand from the deck. Stratos is the card that allows the modern HERO deck to perform well because it allows you to play all of the sub-archetypes together. Stratos looks good to me primarily due to his pose. It really feels like he is flight and the metal wings give a sense of speed and power. Additionally the card is a wind attribute, which is usually associated with green, but Stratos is primarily blue which makes him stand out.plain2019-12-12T19:58:30-08:00Brian A Zabawa02e3d54f75bf02b8277e6786d60eb560eec8d8cb

They were introduced in 2004 when the tv show Yu-Gi-Oh GX came out. Jayden Yuki, the main character of the show, wielded the HERO in his duels across the multiple seasons of the shows. It was aways fun to watch him duel, because it seems like every episode he would unleash a new HERO from the extra deck.
The original 5 HERO monsters were Avian, Burstinitrix, Clayman, Sparkman, and Bubbleman. They designs were made by the creator of the game himself Kazuki Takahashi, and they were made to resemble elemental versions of American Superheros. Avian was a wind version of Hawk-guy from DC. Burstinitrix was based off of the Human Torch. Clayman was based off of the Thing. Sparkman is believed to be based off of Iron Man. Bubbleman was based off of Batman suprisingly enough. When they came out they also had a bevy of extra deck monsters that shared the same prefix.
The HERO strategy was originally based off of fusion summoning. To do this you needed two specific monsters in hand and a copy of the card polymerization. You would then fuse the two monsters into the corresponding fusion monster from the extra deck. For example if you had Avian + Burstinitrix you could make Elemental HERO Flare WIngman. As time went on however having these normal HERO monster in the deck became detrimental to the deck. A new wave of Elemental HEROs came out that made it easier to summon these monster by either taking their name or their attribute. Additionally the Omni HEROs, which are heavily featured on this list, made it so that you could use any Elemental HERO instead of a specific one. They also came with much stroger effects compared to their specific counterparts.
Later in their life cycle the Elemental HEROs moved away from their super hero inspiration and just became super cool looking monsters. Many of them are featured on this list so enjoy the art.
