The subject of philosophy
The subject of research is the properties of the object of reality most interesting to this science; or a certain aspect (sign) of the object and its manifestations, links with the environment, which is of interest to a particular science in the phenomenon under consideration.
Unlike the object that I will discuss below, the subject of philosophy has often changed over time to satisfy the trends in science, but bringing it to a single one is not that impossible, but meaningless.
In fact, thinkers have several quite viable subjects of philosophy for a study on them; it is divided into the corresponding disciplines, I list the main short:
- In logic, these are the ways of achieving truth in abstracting, abstracting, mediating knowledge from the question under investigation, that is, excluding sensory experience;
- The subject of the study of metaphysics is the mechanisms, structure, connections and fundamental laws of being and being; some of these items are in ontology;
- Gnoseology calls the subject of study the forms, ways, methods and qualities of cognitive activity. It also includes such things as epistemology: the principles of cognition and cognition, the movement or development of knowledge, its improvement, as well as the possibilities and boundaries of the cognizable;
- In axiology, thinkers study the following subjects: subjective and objective value, its nature and criteria, differences in approaches and views in the definition of value, the influence of time and other processes and values on the attitude to the importance of the phenomenon and so on;
- Aesthetics among its subjects calls the essence of beauty, the origin of the beautiful, its criteria and forms, the influence of the rational-sensual experience of the beautiful, the reverse phenomena of beauty, for example, ugly, ugly, the causes and forms of its emergence, as well as many other things;
- The subject of ethics is the movement of morality, morality in the customs and relationships of social groups and individuals, their mutual influence associated with the change of morality, its complexity, criteria and application (boundaries).
Of course, this is far from everything, because a person can be the subject of philosophy by the criterion of the microcosm; more on this topic, I will stop in another article.
The main subject of philosophy seems to me to be intelligence, the ability to cognize, to abstract. The ability of rational cognition and thinking in the aggregate is not only investigated by philosophy but also played a major role in its formation; it was an opportunity to carry out an intellectual search.
The problem of the subject of philosophy lies in the methodology applied to it, which obliges to form some standards that limit the necessary wide field of search. To put it simply: to specify the subject, we need to define strict criteria, but then the applicability of the subject itself is narrowed, and from what has been said above it is clear that many of them apply to different disciplines. For example, the relations of a relationship and mutual formation from a strict framework lose these very links - a complex issue, a methodological problem.
