Goran Visnjic: the Balkan Star in Hollywood
Going back to his homeland for a film shooting was extremely fun. Goran Visnjic was born in Croatia and there he had his first acting beginnings. The actor shot his first film here, and coming back from where he started, after so many years, made him sentimental. He started his acting career soon after the war, somewhere in the mid 90’s. He was only 18 years old. A few years later he filmed one movie in Bosnia. It’s been a while since he has filmed in Croatia, and the main reason for that is his swamped schedule and working engagements with ER. He clearly remembers the feeling of relieve when for the first time in so many years he had to speak his native language on the filming set, because it is naturally easier for him to speak Croatian in front of the camera.
With all those Czechs, Slovakians, Brits, Americans, Croatians, and Germans on the set of “Crossing Lines”, I truly felt that my English was becoming worse and worse, with every day passed. I kept switching from one language to another, and eventually it all became a bit too messy, laughed Goran Visnjic. But it was great to go back home and work from there. He only wishes that the filming location was closer to his home town Shibenik so he could have visited his parents more frequently.
Currently, as Hollywood Reporter confirms, Visnjic is about to start a new project. He is going to be a part of the drama 'Fatima', which shooting location will be in Lisbon, Portugal.
