Goran Visnjic Returns as Flynn

NBC’s new time travel show ‘Timeless’ surprised everyone after it was canceled, and then un-cancelled just three days later. The series loyal fan base made sure their collective voice was heard in social media, and probably for the first time ever, they were able to bring back their favorite show. A few months after the show’s revival, Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Goran Visnjic and Malcolm Barrett, as well as the series creators Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan, reunited at San Diego Comic-Con and once again showed their appreciation for the fans.

At the Comic-Con panel, the ‘Timeless’ team answered questions from fans, discussed the cancellation mishap, and spoke about their plans for Season 2. The co-creators revealed that the new season of ‘Timeless’ will dig deeper into the characters. The action-adventure drama stars Abigail Spencer as Lucy, Malcolm Barrett as Rufus, Matt Lanter as Wyatt, and Goran Visnjic as Garcia Flynn.

For the second season, Kripke and Ryan also decided to double the amount of untold history close to the one from season one, but this time going further into different creators of history. Apparently, both of them are fine with the shorter episode order, mostly because they are well aware how hard it is to do such series in 22 episodes. Season two will have only 10 episodes, but it will feature a more compact story. Furthermore, rather than a science fiction drama, this season will be much closer to a historical adventure. The producers also revealed that the production is relocating to California, where they will receive a tax credit from the state. Of course, ‘Timeless’ isn’t the only show relocating to California under the commission’s Program 2.0.

Season two is supposed to employ around 250 cast, 220 crew, and 3000 extras. Looking ahead, Garcia Flynn (Goran) and the unexpected trio will face a common enemy which will make things even more complicated. Like most of today’s scripted TV, season 2 might be influenced by the current political state of the country. The one thing that’s sure, we’ll hear some of the stories that they were unable to tell in season one, most of which are positive, really inclusive stories about history that have made this country so glorious.

To quote Visnjic himself, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better.
