Rev. Ralph Abernathy (Dr. King's closest friend) at the Freedom Rally, the largest Civil Rights rally ever held at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. The rally brought over 40,000 people and a host of civil rights activists including Sammy Davis Jr., Dorothy Dandridge, Marlon Brando, Rita Moreno, Mel Ferrer, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Charlton Heston and other Hollywood celebrities, to support the movement in Birmingham.
