Rev. Don Herbst Copeland

The Rev. Don H. Copeland was born on 11 January 1898 in Lima, Ohio, the son of Thaddeus and Mabel Copeland. He attended Western Reserve University, Ohio Northern University, and Seabury Western Theological Seminary, being ordained tot he priesthood in 1922. He married Irene Haman in Auglaize, Ohio, on 1 June 1920. In 1930 he served a church in Dayton, Ohio. He became rector of St. James Church in South Bend in 1943 and served until to 1952, during which time he held several diocesan offices. He later moved to Florida, serving St. Stephen's Church in Coconut Grove and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Pompano Beach. He also founded the World Center of Theological Studies in Boca Raton. He died in Orlando on 26 June 1976 and was buried in the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Orlando.
