Animations are cool, but they can also be distracting. LINGsCARS uses animations, but they're usually pretty simple, and once you get into the content there aren't very many. The Captain Marvel website uses animations to draw your eye to certain areas of the page, but again, those animations are fairly simple in most cases, and they don't detract from the content.
