Working in Scalar for DH in REL
The goal with this assignment is to experiment and learn through doing. While we work with the internet and digital content all the time, we don't often stop to think about how content is structured or how we might structure it differently. The goal in creating these essays is to try a variety of ways to analyze and present your data, using the tools of hyperlinking and embedding.
Start with the "Creating Your Essay" page, and then use the other pages as you need to bring in your content from Omeka and your visualizations from Flourish and Voyant.
If you are working with videos, you can bring in content from services such as YouTube and Vimeo. You can also bring in social media content -- anything with a link can become part of your essay.
Once all the essays are submitted, I will organize them into a path, similar to a journal issue. This project will live on after this class, so come back to see the work of other students in other courses and years.
