Climate Change

Eden - Overview

"The Day After Tomorrow" - Overview
The novel Eden centers around a group of 7 thrill seekers who travel around a near post-apocalyptic world that was destroyed and changed by natural disasters caused by climate change. In this world, there have been 12 ‘Virgin Zones’ set up by an international government entity who’s sole purpose was to make sure that no humans would get into any of these zones through intense security measures. The group tries to race through these zones and find that they find a sense of themselves in exploring true wild and seeing what a world untouched by humans is like. The novel tracks them as they track across the most wild zone, ‘Eden’ while also looking for the mother of the main character, Jenn. During their journey, the characters discover that it may not only be an international agency trying to keep them out of Eden but the force of nature itself. It is clear that the novel is inspired by the feeling that many express today that there is nowhere left in the world that is truly unexplored.
