3.1 The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio
Background
In 1927, Cleveland served as the meeting place for religious leaders to combat domestic terrorism. This meeting aided in the formation of The National Conference of Christians and Jews. In 2006, this organization changed its name to The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio.This nonprofit not only promotes racial diversity, but gender, age, religion, sex, ethnicity, culture, ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status inclusion, too.

1. School & Youth Program- Events for youth to discuss importance of diversity
- Conferences, camps, retreats, and workshops that take place either on or off campuses
- Topics include: Disability, religious tolerance, body image, cyber bulling, and bullying prevention
- A selective 10-month program where adults can work on diversity and leadership skills in their workplace, community, and world
- Not only beneficial to participants, but to the participants' organizations and workplaces, too
- Collaborates with businesses to create more inclusive work environments
- Assesses current problems in an establishment
- Creates action plan then aids in execution of it
- Provides ongoing support
