Cleveland's Nonprofit All-Stars

1.2 PRIDE in the CLE

On Thursday, July 28, the annual Cleveland Pride was cancelled. Cleveland Pride made a press release which said: "Because of the changing social climate, Cleveland Pride did not have enough time to engage in the development of awareness programs and training that we believe is critical in today's environment. Therefore, we regretfully cancelled our 28th annual parade, rally and festival this year." As a result, the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland partnered with many other organizations in the area to put on a Pride event to engage, inspire, and empower participants. They titled this event PRIDE in the CLE. The LGBT Community Center filled in to host a much needed celebratory event that allows LGBTQ+ members of the community to feel a sense of pride in who they are and discover that they are not alone. As the poster on the left illustrates, the Center has formed relationships with many organizations across the Cleveland area, furthering the acceptance and assistance of LGBTA+ individuals in the Cleveland community. By organizing this amazing event and building these bonds with other organizations, the center has truly defined itself as an All-Star Nonprofit.
