Chapter 3: Adoption Network Cleveland
We gave Adoption Network of Cleveland an all-star status for multiple reasons. First and foremost, Adoption Network of Cleveland has an amazing impact on society. The organization helps children meet potential families, makes sure the children are adjusting well, and assists them throughout life. One of the first achievements of Adoption Network of Cleveland was to lobby local legislatures to change the system, making it easier for children to be adopted. Prior to these changes, many potential adopters “reported difficulty accessing all of the needed services because of cumbersome paperwork, transportation issues, costs, and/or inflexible office hours”(Lorkovich, Tami). Adoption Network of Cleveland’s actions resulted in an easier process along with a significant increase in adoptions, leaving fewer orphans in the state. Furthermore, this non profit benefited society by saving taxpayers an estimated 51.7 million dollars while finding children loving homes at the same time.
