Subversive Influence in the Educational Process

In 1953, Ralph Spitzer was subpoenaed to appear before the Subcommittee to Investigate the Administration of the Internal Security Act and Other Internal Security Laws of the Committee on the Judiciary United States Senate. He was questioned on his role in the educational process, as well as his status, if any, within the communist party. Spitzer declined to answer the communist questions under protection of the fifth amendment.

Referenced slightly within Spitzer's testimony is the status of his passport. In 1950, Spitzer came across issues with his passport and was detained in the Netherlands. By heading over to our page, "Linus Pauling and the Europe Fiasco," accessible here, you can read more about it!
