Dubai is a very diverse city with a lot of different nationalities and ethnicities. While it tries to appeal to the 'modern' Muslim there are people from all over the world who are currently residing and investing in Dubai. For the most part, Dubai attempts to attract people from the United States and Europe. Websites are in English, and they make things very easy to access for the American and European. On average, Westerners earn more than their counterparts in Dubai for doing the same job which highlights its focus on looking towards the West as being 'modern'. As a Global City Dubai has had several image issues for example those dealing with human rights which the Dubai government has addressed on their embassy website.
