Conclusion

History of the site
To conclude, the St. Andrew’s church is the oldest Presbyterian sanctuary in Ottawa. The rich history of the site, the heritage of the church and the role it plays in the community are probably the main reasons why so many people consider this building as a part of everyday life. After being destroyed by the flames twice, surviving oppression and financial difficulties, the church is still present today and the only non-governmental building on Wellington street.
