Strolling somewhat aimlessly around Abu Dhabi Mall, I began my search for a commodity featuring a ‘reproduction of artwork’. I gazed through different shop windows in the hopes that perhaps I would spot a shirt emblazoned with a Picasso or van Gogh painting. With time to complete the assignment running out, I began snapping photographs of any item that had a recognizable figure imprinted on it. A pair of “Pink Panther” flip-flops, a “Hello Kitty” school bag, a children’s t-shirt with Mickey Mouse … None of these items were quite what I was searching for. Glancing at my watch, I could see I had just under twenty minutes left as I entered yet another store.
