Honorees included Dr. Hansonia Caldwell, collections donor and Emeritus professor of music at CSUDH; Sallyanne Payton, Los Angeles native and sponsor of the Georgia and Nolan Payton Sacred Music Archives; and Dr. Albert McNeil, who celebrated his 100th birthday less than a week earlier on February 14, 2020. Speakers included Mitch Avila, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities; Greg Williams, director of the Gerth Archives and Special Collections; Beth McDonald, archivist for the Sacred Music Collections and curator of the exhibit; Chuck Dickerson, current director of the CSUDH Jubilee Choir; and Michael Wright, a longtime member of the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers and friend of Dr. McNeil. Performances were given by Marlaina Owens and Hansonia Caldwell and the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers.
