The Rhythm Rascals, “Dinah/My Sweetie Went Away,” Crown (UK), Label #160, 9” 78rpm, 1936.
Though 10” was the most popular size, other sizes existed as well such as 8” and 9” shellac records.
Crown records was a British label established in 1935, succeeding Eclipse records. Their nine-inch records sold for 6 pence in Woolworth’s and were the cheapest records available in Britain in the late 1930s. The jazz records on this label are comparatively rare, as they were not sold in a market that jazz collectors would have normally frequented.
