- Theodore Hsi-en Chen papers (USC Special Collections) consist of administrative and faculty papers from Dr. Chen's chairing of the East Asian Studies Center and its predecessors from 1960 to 1971. The collection also includes material from the 1940s and 1950s, a scrapbook of newspaper clippings on Dr. Chen's career, photographic slides showing Theodore Chen and Wen Hui Chen's tour of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia in 1962, research reports and theses, and a photocopied biography of Theodore Chen. These materials were donated by Theodore Hsi-en Chen and Wen Hui Chen in several installments, beginning in 1972. Available for public viewing, after reservation with USC Special Collections.
- Theodore Chen Collection, 1900-1924 (USC Digital Library) includes photographs about Fuzhou during the late Qing and early Republican periods, collected by Theodore Chen's parents. Available for public viewing.
- China Society of Southern California records, 1935-2015 (USC Special Collections) consist of correspondence, minutes, financial records, bulletins, brochures, invitations, event materials, articles, clippings, publications, certificates, and ephemera documenting the 80-year history of the oldest Sino-American organization in the United States. The collection came to the University through connections made by Clayton Dube, Executive Director of USC's U.S.-China Institute. Representatives of the China Society of Southern California, including its President, Robert Lee (2014), visited USC to discuss the donation of the material. Available for public viewing, after reservation with USC Special Collections. Many items in the collections have been digitized and are available in the USC Digital Library.
