team exterior #1

The concept for this mosque's exterior was to take the grand, elegant and beautiful design of the grand mosque in Dubai and use that template to create a smaller, more modern interpretation for the plot in Whittier.  We have also implemented elements of a sleek modern design to create our rendition of this mosque, while maintaining some semblance of the Grand Mosque.  We are going to incorporate many family spaces and warm colors as well as eco-friendly building materials and energy sources to create a welcoming, open space that does not make a large impact on the environment.  There will be many large windows offering the ability to let in a lot of natural light to illuminate the building, but also sufficient measures to block out the sun's harsh and blinding rays on a bright, hot day.  Our mosque will also incorporate the newest and safest building techniques and use materials built to withstand earthquakes or other natural disasters.  Our mosque will be a great asset to the community and create a functional and aesthetically pleasing building that is at the forefront of innovation.
