Envelope Generator (EG/ADSR)

An envelope generator creates an envelope that controls the VCA and/or the VCF.  When controlling the VCA, the shape of the envelope determines the dynamics (volume over time) of the sound.  An envelope is comprised of four main points:
Attack
Decay
Sustain
Release
