Our lbgtq comics and cartoons are very popular with researchers who visit the archives. Most of the artists are not famous like Alison Bechdel and her amazing and early work in "Dykes to Watch Out For." She is an exception. But many community artists are well followed/collected and some have one of a kind creations. We are highlighting Diane F. Germain, a cartoonist who created over 100 comics for the Lesbian News as well as many more for other lesbian periodicals like Hot Wire Magazine and The Journal of Women's Music.  After almost 40 years of creating comics for print Diane created lesbian emoji called,"L'emoji."
