Kennedy Highlights

Catherine Kennedy was a Saint Mary's student from 1919-1921.  During her time at Saint Mary's she kept a journal of her daily life, class life, poetry, campus and local events, and extracurriculars. As a student, Kennedy was interested in sororities, musical performances, dances, Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s, and South Bend news, and she was an avid writer which are shown through artifacts documented in her journal.

These examples include: a Tribune clipping that announces the death of George Gipp, a Tribune clipping that describes the community's reaction to the death of George Gipp, a program from Francesca Zarad's performance at Saint Mary’s, a newspaper announcement of a big dance event the sorority, Delta Theta Tau, was planning, two handwritten notes from Kennedy’s friends, a red dance card, an invitation to join the Tri Kappa Fraternity, and a program for Hazel A. Weinrich’s performance at Saint Mary’s.
