Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

These sessions included a video and a discussion session and educated student athletes about the definition of sexual assault, conditions that could lead to it (such as an abusive relationship, a party), and how to avoid it.
The following collection in this archive are aggregated qualitative data from student surveys following these workshops. These documents included student comments about the workshop, evaluation of the content, and thoughts on the topic broadly.
To maintain student anonymity, the materials available on this archive are replicas of the original documents. All of the text has been transcribed and reference to specific dates have been removed. It is possible to view these surveys based on gender and sports team, however, because these categories offer significant insight into varied student response of the workshop.
These surveys appeared to be an internal SAPAC document intended to evaluate the impact of these workshops and provide a space for students to offer feedback. The original document features various comments highlighted in blue or yellow to indicate a negative or positive response (blue is negative and yellow is positive). The exact criteria of what response counts as positive or negative is not noted. All of the information included in these documents was transcribed (including the highlighted elements) exactly as it appears in the original document, except for the specific dates that were removed due to privacy concerns.
There are two types of ways to engage with this archive. The first is an archival view at the documents, which features the replicated materials, typed up and organized in various thematic groups (all men’s responses, basketball responses, all responses, etc.). The second is an interpretive view of the content utilizing wordclouds that aggregate and display words based on frequency. The wordcloud provides another way to view and consider the content of these surveys given their ephemeral nature. To begin viewing content in this section, select the link below.
