Father Chaim Kofinas adjusts the tefillin on his son’s head, thus helping him fulfill the commandment “And you shall bind them as a sign upon your arm, and they shall be as totafot between your eyes.” (Deuteronomy 6:8), an obligation that begins when one become a Bar Mitzvah. Many years earlier Chaim also celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at Kehila Kdosha Janina Synagogue.
