Praxis of Social Imaginaries: Cosmologies, Othering and Liminality

Mapping

The idea of mapping is the point of departure for visual artist Helena Hildur W. She brings along her interest in various techniques and modes of mapping (e. g. Cahill, Dymaxion, Waterman, AuthaGraph projections; indigenous maps, such as Inuit and Polynesian nautical charts; and historical maps, esp. Christian and Islamic Mappae Mundi). Taking on the role of ‘project cartographer’, she will reflect (on) emerging topics, seeking ways to visualize both spatial and non-spatial dimensions. Experienced in multiform creative group processes, she is prepared to conduct temporary/recurring workshops, and to contribute in long-term collaborations. Eventually, her work may accumulate into forming cartographic layers, which suggests the possibility of a digitally integrated version.
