Barthes and Signification
According to Barthes, myths contain two semiological systems: a linguistic system and the myth itself. He represents this relational formation as follows:
This is the foundation for discussing the act of meaning making. In order to understand the connections and boundaries between human and machine, we need to be able to deconstruct the narrative of the myth being told by active agents. In this case, we will be deconstructing the myths associated with the symbolism present in Battlestar Galactica and the Mormon Transhumanist Association.
