Networks, Games, Maps
The course proposed to think of networks, games and maps as concepts and tools used by activist groups in contemporary resistance struggles. This teaching activity was a requirement as a part of my PhD scholarship at the School of Communication. The course was taught by Dr Ivana Bentes and doctoral students José Messias, Kenia Freitas and myself. It was open to non university students and it attracted more than 70 students. It had a total duration of 60 hours.
The methodology consisted in both theory and a practical exercise, where the students had to produce an article and a collective video about urban commons in Rio de Janeiro, based on Mapping the Commons methodology.
